EVERHIT ABLETON BRIDGE FOR WINDOWS
==================================

Preview release for 64-bit Windows 10/11.

Requirements
------------
- Ableton Live with Max for Live (included with Live Suite, or purchased for
  a compatible Live edition).
- An Everhit account and an internet connection.

Files in this package
---------------------
- EverhitAbletonCompanion.exe Local Everhit companion.
- EverhitSync.amxd Max for Live device loaded in Ableton.
- everhit_live_bridge.js Required device helper. Keep it beside the AMXD.

Install
-------
1. Extract the complete ZIP. Do not run the companion from inside the ZIP.
2. In Ableton, open Settings/Preferences > Library and find the User Library
   location.
3. Inside the User Library, create an "Everhit" folder and copy
EverhitSync.amxd and everhit_live_bridge.js into it together.
4. Double-click EverhitAbletonCompanion.exe. Keep its window open while using
Everhit. Windows SmartScreen may show a warning because this preview build
is not yet code-signed; choose More info > Run anyway only if the file came
   from https://everhit.site/install.html.
5. Open Ableton Live. In Ableton's Browser, find User Library > Everhit and
   drag EverhitSync onto a track.
6. Press Ctrl+Alt+N, or use Connect Everhit in the device, then sign in and
choose the Everhit project for this Live Set.

Use
---
- Ctrl+Alt+U: Push the current supported Ableton changes to Everhit.
- Ctrl+Alt+D: Pull the selected Everhit project branch into Ableton.
- Ctrl+Alt+N: Connect an unbound Set, or open its bridge page when connected.

You can also use Connect, Push, and Pull from the Ableton bridge page while
the companion is running. If your browser asks for permission to communicate
with devices on your local network, allow it; the companion listens only on
this computer at 127.0.0.1.

Start EverhitAbletonCompanion.exe again each time you restart Windows, before
using Push or Pull. If Ableton does not show the device, verify that the AMXD
and JavaScript file are still in the same folder, then refresh User Library.

Important
---------
Everhit does not yet reproduce every plug-in state, rack, automation envelope,
or other opaque Ableton data. Keep your original Live Set and test Pull with a
disposable project before relying on it for important work.
